Inauguration of a state-of-the-art diagnostic center in Shillong
Shillong: Coinciding with Meghalaya’s 50th Independence Day, a state-of-the-art diagnostic center was inaugurated on Friday by Meghalaya’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare, James PK Sangma, at Pasteur Hill, Shillong .
Operated by Health Services Branch (MI), Government of Meghalaya, in PPP mode with Suraksha Salvia Global LLP, the diagnostic center, which is the first of its kind in North East India, plans to provide affordable, comprehensive and efficient diagnostic services . It aims to use the latest and most sophisticated technology, which in turn will ensure prompt intervention and treatment for people.
In addition to pathology, the diagnostic center will offer services relating to oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, nephrology, pediatrics, gynecology and pulmonology.
Addressing the rally, Sangma dedicated the diagnostic center to the people of Meghalaya and said that with multiple services offered under one roof, people will no longer have to travel out of state for diagnostic purposes.
The efficiency and accuracy of the services promised by the diagnostic center and its futuristic outlook, in which technology is integrated with modern medicine, reflect the direction that health care is taking in Meghalaya state, he said. he adds.
Sangma further informed that in the first phase, only the pathology section has been commissioned and once radiology and other modalities are functional, the diagnostic center will become the largest and most advanced in the north- is.
